News: Mahrez scores to sink Nigeria

Riyad Mahrez…

Over the weekend we had so much news that it would be quite a read but an interesting one, not so interesting though if you are from Nigeria lol.

It is no longer news that the Super Eagles of Nigeria lost to the Craftiness of the desert foxes of Algeria and majorly an inspired Freekick from Riyad Mahrez. Some others will disagree that the freekick went in due to a schoolboy error from the Goalkeeper but whichever side you are, we can all agree that the last-minute goal after VAR came to the rescue of Nigeria to draw level 1-1 was painful. In our pidgin language (it caused Sifia Pain). I guess we will settle for our golden bronze as usual. What is the way forward? We need to get a new Coach to manage the amazing talent we have actually. Rohr has tried for the country, but we need a Coach that can take us to the next level, and I don’t see him doing that. We wish the Desert Foxes well they have been the most informed team in this tournament, and they deserve to win the Nations cup.

Wimbledon Final…

It was an amazing Final between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. Amazing does not begin to describe a match that did almost five hours stretch. Both men gave it their all and went to long haul with tiebreakers and near wins. It is sad to be honest to see Old Roger lose this match considering how far he pushed Novak in this match. It was energy sapping. A test of their mental strength and capabilities, how they can manage fatigue, but the game of Tennis is a crawl one just like every other sport. There can be only one winner and Novak Djokovic triumphed eventually. But respect to both men that keep holding it down in the world of Tennis, their millions for being in that final though should more than compensate for all the stress lol.

#Silverstone British Grand Prix…

Louis Hamilton has done it again, oh yes, his fifth win in the British Grand prix and his six win this year’s Formula One Grand prix is nothing short of amazing. After qualifying second to Valterri Bottas, Hamilton was back to doing what he knows how to do best, getting that first position and oh boy! Did he do it in style. Vettel is supposed major rival seems to be a shadow of his former self finishing sixteenth. Is it too soon to say this championship is over? Oh well to me it is. One step from the Schumacher record is the goal.

The death of the daughter of the Afenifere leader, Mrs Funke Olakunrin was a sad one. Pa Fasoranti lost is daughter to the cold hands of death when she was killed while travelling. It goes to show how unsafe the country is at the moment and how the government should act immediately to stop the threat to life. We sympathize with the family and we hope the Government will find a lasting solution to all the killings and those responsible be brought to face the wrath of the law. But it should not be when someone important gets affected before the government rises up to the occasion. The complaint concerning our roads have been ongoing for a long time now. It is well with Nigeria.
